Dolphins are certain aquatic mammals related to whales and porpoises. The name is from Ancient Greek äåëöίò delphis meaning "with a womb", viz. "a 'fish' with a womb". Mesoamerican cultures call them toninas as some of the Central and Southamerican habitants still does. |
