The Basenji is a breed of dog and a member of the
sight hound family. The basenji is a Congolese hunting dog that rarely, (if ever) barks, but does have an odd
yodeling sound. Recent DNA analysis confirms that this is one of the oldest breeds of dog
in the world. It was officially accepted into the AKC in 1943.
