coonhounds are scent hounds
descended from the foxhound. Most
coonhounds are spotted with splotches of brown. They are
not very well-known. Most have extremely vocal tendencies; this is a
trait they were bred for. Treeing raccoons, then barking so the
owner could find and shoot the coon, was their function.
